Were they just being dumb, or was it unavoidable?

Honestly, I think it was bad luck but they tried to play it like Chan had been leaking oil the whole way. A simple apology would have suffice. Chan took the damage better than I did.

You know, I was really just mostly surprised that they'd pull ANY car back on like that, perpendicular to the track. Seems like at least half the cars out there would get a front airdam, oilpan, something ripped off that way. FWIW though, I didn't think the lip on the track was that high either. I might have very well just pulled out there the same way!

I think it was more the track getting me back for disrespecting T3 with much failed attempts at drifting.

True that. I enjoyed the patch of oil you left at trackout. That was entertaining.

Maybe Laura Cobetto could chime in, but is there a worker thread for CMP, and is anyone from CMP coming?

Andy wanted me to show him the tire wall between 3 and 4, so I took him out there to visit. Wasn't a hard hit at all, we were ready for more, but when they dragged us back on track (I was stuck in the mud), the lip of the track put a hole in my oilpan. D'oh! A little JB weld, epoxy, and donated oil, and I'm back home without issue.
Glad to here the quick fix was the shizzle.....

Instint says feel sorry for you, but then I think of who you are and I just smile, knowing that you just look at it and laugh.

So, glad you had fun ;-).
Where were you , Pete? we missed you

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

sorry for the late chime in, just got back from san fran late last night.

what a fantastic weekend for me. it was the first event with the new miata and it handled perfectly. i only had a few scary moments but it felt very neutral and very fast. i can definitely tell that the axxis ultimates were getting worse as the day got warmer, so i think they're suitable for cold weather but the upcoming summer events are gonna call for something much more stout.

my pics:

they're mainly of the stinger race but a few others mixed in. i also got the start of the thunder race on video which is really white washed for some reason, but you can still see all the near carnage that occurs when the pole sitter stalls on a standing start. i'll youtube it when i get settled in.
