In all seriousness, who is stupid enough to pay for a $600 cell phone that you cant replace the battery, cant expand the memory and has a large, completely exposed touch screen? What the hell would happen to that thing the first time you dropped it (you know it will happen.) You obviously cant put a cover over it because the screen (used to dial numbers) is all touch sensitive.

Bling? Yes.

Cool features? Yes, but available in more practical, cheaper phones.

Durable? Doubt it, especially when looking at how much cell phones are used. All the iPods I have seen that are actually used on a regular basis suffer from failing batteries, dying HDs and horrible scratches on the screen if a case is not used within the course of a year.

Can you use it without looking at it? No, there are no raised buttons, making it a pain in the ass to multi task w/ the phone.

IMO, just one more iPOS for iIdiots that think bling, expensive non-practical electronics extend their iPenis.

It could turn out to be fragile and prone to scratching but no one knows if that will be the case. The battery replacement is more involved than most but it is not irreplaceable. As for the HD, this is flash based so that's not a problem.

Sure its trendy and all but you can't judge any of the things you're criticizing until the product actually hits the market. Now one can criticize the fact that you can't put your own applications on the device or wirelessly sync with the computer, or more importantly, that the phone is not unlocked and you have to sign with Cingular. Everything else is pure speculation at this point.

You can't go to the Cingular store, buy a backup battery and switch them out in the taxi because yours died... and that's what iMatters.

The whole reason I carry an expensive electronic gadget is to not deal with that. I use it all day and plug it in at night. If I have to carry around an extra battery there's just all the much more trouble involved.

No... but if it's going to be considered for business application it's likely going to need the option. I think most proper briefcase carrying business men I know (admitedly not that many) have spare batteries in the aforementioned briefcases.

For the card carrying businessman you're right. Not having a battery that you can just pop out is a liability. For average people its a nuisance but its not impossible. I've never had to replace the battery on any of my phones nor my iPod (although my first iPod got stolen).

as power hungry as a 3.5" screen is, do you really think its going to go over well with people when after a year or so their $600 cell phone runs out of juice before lunch every day? Want to fix it and dont have an EE degree? That will be $600 thankyouverymuch.
