Hyperfest registration is open

Alright yes, your allowed to pass only with a hand-wave on the straights. They try to space them out but sometimes someone gets stuck behind a bunch of slow cars. (they made me pit stop and wait, they told me they were throwing me in with the porsches... I was like...alright..)

It is fun, great way to get first time on the track, as no more worker credits are allowed im probably going to be doing a hyper-drive or work it. If I can get confirmed a few friends to go in hyper-drive ill do the hyper-drive...

You know I don't remember. I did not pass anyone....I think the cars are spaced out by releasing them in intervals.. i will find out
2 years ago when I instructed, there was passing and the cars all went out together, just like a regular HPDE1 or friday at the track session.. The brief classroom session was either inadequate or the students didnt listen because there was a lot of confusion about passing zones and signals. Understandable given the sensory overload of your first time on track, but still not an ideal situation

For anyone who really had their heart set on doing a hyperdrive dont let my opinion sway you that much. Its not a bunch of cars on flipping and on fire all the way around the track. Im just critical as to how events should be run, especially when it comes to preparation and saftey, and IMO this format crosses well past my own personal threshold. As someone who has done this for a long time, with a whole lot of different organizations, Ive got a great idea on how I think an event should be run. Those are just my feelings however, plenty of people love doing FATTs and have no problem with it.

the odds are well in your favor that you and your car will come through it without a scratch and you definately would have a blast.

I'm with stupid.

I've seen ugly shit happen at DE events - like the Evo that slammed into the T10 tire wall, and the instructor got out so rattled he asked "Am I alive?". I'm not saying that would happen here, but at the same time the regular NASA HPDE classroom/format tends to be better at preparing students for being on track at high speed than anything i've seen with BSR.

I'm pretty much done with instructing anyways, I've never had a student hit anything and only a handfull of offs/spins in 3 years so I figure my luck has run out - so take it for what you will Smile

So I'm a little late on registering, but I think I have finally realized that the go-fast-crack pipe has me hooked. Cams and cam gears just sold, waiting for the money to trasnfer into my account, pay rent off for the month and then registering!
