NASA-X Autocross October 24th

I would have to agree with your reasoning. Loaner Helmets, start line delays, clogging grid, jackassery sessions are all something ive had to deal with. I actually like that your doing this along with an "instructor" that's qualified. Learning lines and autocross etiquette from people that arent at least somewhat experienced can actaully harm their progress.

Looks like 78 and sunny on Sunday. Should be a great day for some autocross, and David L is co-driving my car.

Kyle, Felton put me as #15 in your car in Heat 1, so sharing the heat with you but about 10 drivers apart, does that work w/ you?

Its going to be a pita if you run before me and then to get back in line I have to cut ahead. The way the lines were setup last time made it impossible to just simply cut unless I just keep my car off to the side??? Jon.. chime in?

I dont see why one of us isnt just put in heat 2, but I'd rather be in Heat 1 with all the MM ppl.

VMP grid is usually 10 rows of 2-3 cars each, we can just make an 11th lane for that, or put the car under the big tent, or by the fence. Figure out which cars you need to be right after and hop in after 'em as the rows go toward start. Also don't forget to yell out which number you're running as to the starter so we don't get the times confused.

Or we can put one of you in heat 2. No worries either way, just please let me know ASAP (much easier to move entries around now than it is on event day...)

David is also 7 spots behind me. I'm sure it'd be easier to just run 7 and have David run 797 so we are further apart. I was going to work that out on Sunday morning. I think it's better to run two drivers in the same heat as the weather gets a little cooler on r-compounds but it'll help keep heat in street tires too.

Let's figure this out now, not Sunday, please. I'm sure registration & timing will be crazy enough as-is

7 is taken, as are 17, 27, 37, 47. How about 57? That would definitely make more of a gap.

OK, if thats easier I can do that. I've never done a NASA autocross nor have I ever co-drived, so logistically I don't have a lot to chime in about other than I'd be happy to do the other heat if its less of a PITA.

Each heat's run order is sequentially by car number, and starts back over with each additional run. So as the list currently sits, car #9's second run would only be three spots after #797's first run.

Figuring the usual 25-30sec start intervals, 7 spots away in grid would be about 3 to 3.5 minutes apart between runs. 10 spots away would be more like 4 or 5 minutes apart.

How about #9 and #97?

Thanks!

Jon,

Lets do this, as the end all be all to this fiasco

I'll move to Heat 2. I'd rather not go out in Kyle's car before him (as appears to be the case) and this way I can at least watch what other people are doing before I tackle a new venue in a new car

Thanks for your help!
