High beam...

I think that's the nicest thing Chris has ever said about me. I feel all warm and fuzzy.

I think Chris hit the nail on the head. I've "been riding" for two years, but I know other guys who have been riding for two years that haven't put on the mileage that I usually do in a month. Take Rob, for example (sorry to throw you in front of the train)... in however many months he only rode 300 miles and he was making mistakes that I'd expect a first few weeks rider to make.

In a car you get in, you drive somewhere, and get out. It's a non event most of the time. On a bike, though, you can pretty much bet that every time you throw a leg over you're going to have your abilities tested in one way or another at least once. You learn to adapt to the conditions that attack you or you end up not riding for very long - you're dead, you're a passenger on the tardkart, or you just give up because it's too much. When something goes wrong you've got less time and resources to deal with whatever it is than you usually do in a car (nevermind the consequences). Drop a wheel over a low shoulder on a car and if you're a half decent driver you'll probably keep going, feeling a little stupid. Drop a wheel on a bike, though, and you're going to hit the ground.

Saying "I've ridden a lot" is aking to letting folks know how comfortable you are on your machine. It probably does sound a little like dick swinging, and I'm not too ashamed to admit that I'm proud of how much I ride.

... and is it just me, or does the kid in the adidas shirt look like Matt?

Evan Wrote:why do you guys talk about how much mileage you have put on your bikes like its some kind of cock length contest?
does anyone really care?
hey, Ive reduced the value of my bike more than you have!

more miles == more experience IMO

people often mistake experience for number of years when i don't really agree with that at all.

for instance, i have about 180k miles of driving underneath my belt and i feel that's more than the general public of my same age.

i agree with the cock length aspect of it though Tongue I'd answer someone question regarding it before i'd just go out there and say it.

also, i've been riding longer than jay by a few months, but my cock is 6 inches longer than his inverted child's excuse for a penis.

So if it's 6 inches longer than something that's inverted wouldn't that make it like 3 inches?

The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. I rode with paul and andrew over to TWT in fairfax tonight and I turned off my high beam. I felt warm and fuzzy inside.

Do you know the real details of why I had so little miles from June 2004 to June 2005?

Got bike and rode during that summer.
Went to JMU, bike stayed at home from then until I rode during fall break.
Went back to JMU, bike stayed at home until Thanksgiving, rode again
Went back to JMU, rode some during winter break, weather pending.
Went back to JMU, bike stayed at home.
Came home Spring Break, bike stayed at home.
Went back to get my truck in early April, then I FINALLY brought bike back to school with me.
Rode only when conditions were perfect = 300 miles

First time riding with somone else, wreck...

Rob. . . . you just proved his point. He wasn't bashing you, was just pointing out that the mileage translates to experience.

Yeah, I tried to trail off enough for them not to blind you since some of those turns at night suck with low beams.

And it was much appreciated!

Quote of the night:

RJ: "I saw your brake light come on and I thought "oh shit, this is going to be bad, Andrew never brakes on an exit ramp"

That made me laugh so hard my sides hurt!

One day I will get a phone call, asking me to bring my truck to collect andrew's bike, andrew, and andrew's legs from an offramp somewhere off ffx county parkway.

Hey if you're gonna go fast and drag a knee... what better place than where there's concrete walls to stop you?

At least we're all on the same page! Wink

Oh, RJ, put my legs on the truck first. The bike will probably be trashed so there won't be much point in loading that quick... it'd be good to keep the dirt out of my legs, though, just in case they can reattach them.

.... but guys, the parkway? If I'm going up in flames it's gonna be on one of those new 100yard esses coming onto Rt. 28
