sorry to say, no. 3 reasons:

- when i convert a .mov to a .mpeg, it makes the file like twice as big. i guess this is just how it works?
- i don't have a way to condense the .mpeg file
- i don't have the space to host an .mpeg. even the 60 second video i have of my last autocross run (converted from .mov to .mpeg) is 77mb, which is approximately 50 mb bigger than my we-todd account, which is currently filled with car show pictures. so unless someone has a place for me to host these things, then we're out of luck.

What about a .wmv file with windows movie maker. Those file types usually seem smaller, I think...

a divx encoded avi is higher quality and smaller than a mov or a wmv, and is platform independent. ALthough I dont really mind a quicktime mov either. (spyware?)

I hate, hate, hate Quicktime. It is spyware, suckware, shitware, pain-in-my-assware.

i'm not a computer genius so i have no idea how to make an xvid, or encode something with divx. although if someone has a link or some way to show me ill read it.

edit: well i'll be damned...figured out how to convert from .mov to .avi to .wmv....and the .wmv files are teeny. this is great! all your wildest dreams shall come true Rex. no mo mov!

i hate .movs too, i don't understand why so many cameras make their movies into .movs. its become such a pain in my ass to convert this stuff.

i'm currently working on trying to turn my gmail account into a place to host big videos. we'll see how that goes.
