may have a motor for a GRM challenge car...

Well, we have two engines.

Take both apart, see which is the flattest and most round, and use that block with the best parts from both engines for the GRM Car. (=Free)

Take the other and build one with good tolerances, balenced internals, and the right top end. Then use that one to think "sponcerships." (=Fast and Durable)

I have a pretty good professional video at home that shows a complete buildup of a Chevy engine (not sure which one, a V-8 nonetheless). Perhaps that'd be a good starting point? I'd even volunteer the comfort of my living room to host a get-to-gether to watch it.

Haulin_SS rebuilt his engine, he'd be a good one to chime in here.

I agree. We could sell the "extra" motor after salvaging all the best parts, and then rebuild the "good" motor, to be put into one of a gajillion good chassis we'll have to find later. (Z Car, Volvo, FA RX-7, Jaguar)

I think the first thing you need to do when you get the blocks stripped down completely is clean them up, have them tanked and magnafluxed to make sure they dont have any cracks in them. After that, get it line honed, cylinders bored and honed, and get the deck milled. My dad has a set of micrometers we can use to check all that to make sure the machine shop did it right if you need it. Do these blocks have heads already? If they are stock camelback heads, they arent worth putting back on a rebuilt engine..but since it's a really budget build, might have to.
some of this machine work could probably be skipped, i just dont know how good a rebuild ya'll want to do...

oh yeah...the rebuild I did with a different cam netted 426HP in car craft magazine..probably slightly more expensive though
