I'll be in for sure, someone may be able to codrive my car.
Some disclosures though:
STX WRX but the clutch mated incorrectly last time I put it in (I think). So it drives fine, but the clutch pressure changes from time to time, haha.

Can anyone help out with a classing issue for one of our new freshmen that is coming out? He drives a newer Chevy Hhr SS. It is stock, but he is unsure of what class to register for. I assume he can autox since it is fairly small and is somewhat low. Can anyone chime in with suggestions? It's a turbo inline 4 from the Cobalt I believe.

That should help you guys with most stock-class car classing but the HHR SS is one of those oddball cars I can't find on classing. Judging by my google search it seems they fall into G-stock. The Cobalt SS is a D-stock car but they must give the HHR a weight break and put it in GS because thats what class most people are running those in. So he'd be running with Samuel in the Stratus then.

True. I forgot that Verona is more or less a loose gravel lot.

We have plenty of brooms in the trailer.

Also, if anyone is in need of a car to drive, let me know.
I have some almost dead but were sort of okay at their last event 245-40-17 Star Specs if you can figure out how to get them down there from NoVA.

I mentioned this last night at the meeting, but I'll let you guys know too. After the Autox on Saturday, please plan to come back to CASA DE ELSEA for some beers and foods. If we can coordinate it, we can probably bring the Pong table over and set it up in the garage. We provide the foods, and some beer, you guys need to bring more foodz- and more beerz. Not sure what's on the menu yet, as I need to talk to Chef Rex.

I have a set of chili pepper christmas lights that need to be used for something. I bought then with intentions of hanging them up for Fiesta en Fuego.

Thanks guys! This is my car... I know it's unconventional, but since I worked on the LNF during my time with GM up in Detroit, it has a special place in my heart and the HHR has the best interior room of the 4 vehicles the LNF ended up in. (The car is me and my wife's only ride, so a Solstice wasn't gonna work.)

The 2012 SCCA Solo Rules book (http://www.scca.com/assets/2012_Solo_Rules_May.pdf) has a single mention of the HHR SS: Page 189, where it is classified in Street Prepared Class D (DSP). Since I'm stock and it isn't mentioned anywhere else, I was unsure where it would fit. I've never autocrossed before, so I'll take all the "just-let-him-run-in-a-lower-class" advantages I can get Big Grin

I'm thinking chili cook off,but I need others to bring some chili too, as we can't possibly make enough, because we don't have enough crock pots. So if people want to do that, and would be in for making chili, we can stage everything at the house with the crock pots.

G-stock sounds about right. I wouldn't complain if you ran H-stock with me either, I always like competition.

Theres a lot of experience in MM, so if you have a question or concern, just ask someone and we'll steer you right. I just started this year and having a lot of people to talk to and discuss things with has been a huge asset and definitely got me up to speed a little quicker, IMO

Mmm, chili. I'm down. Can we have jalapeno poppers and/or mexican-themed bacon explosion too?

Tell me what to bring and it will be there.

Also, this weekend is my birthday weekend, so I will probably be hungover on Saturday morning.

Would some carnitas be out of place with a chili cookoff?

I'm thinking no, especially if it is an MM Chili Cook-off. Pretty much seems that if the edible item used to walk around and make noise, it's welcome.

All of this sounds good. Lets go with the mexican theme and we'll have some chili there too. That way nobody has to babysit the grill all afternoon. The grill will be there for usage though.

Fiesta de Chili?

We'll be bringing vegan chili and also some chili that is fit for a college-aged car club member to eat.
