Great event everyone.

RJ, thanks for the course layout. G, thanks for using camel tow for all the stuff.

I had a blast trying out rear-wheel drive. I expected the car to be easier to drive, but I'd have to have a lot more practice to get better times. The M coupe out there was probably the most similar car to my dad's and he was gettting much quicker times. Looks like more practice is in order!

As far as improvements and things that went well I could suggest:

-we were set-up early and everything seemed smooth and relaxed before the event started Smile

(only batteries were needed)

-registration was easy
-plenty of time to walk the course
-grid up for the 1st session was a bit confusing, but only because we didn't ahve time to space everyone out before they all drove up to the grid.

-great idea having all 8 runs at once. Things went faster and you could learn the car and make changes immediately in your next run.
-
-next time, we could take Pay-Pal payments (suggested by Laura) so we have more show up.
-clean up was easy and there were no incidents!

-the only negative comment I heard was about the 914 driver. I've seen this car at a PCA autox and I expected it to be one of the FTD. My dad was talking to him and when he heard the timing equipment malfunctioned, he said he wouldn't trust his times to any person- and left. his lost I guess because it was a great course and definately wasn't a national level event. :? Anyways, guess we need to make sure the timing equipment is reliable next time.

he really said that? wow. there weren't prizes or anything, what does it hurt to take the car out for a few practice runs?

the timing issue was out of our hands. i've never seen a box malfunction like that...

I tried to explain to him that these are test-n-tune events, no trophies or points or prizes and he didnt care.

We just asked him to come back next time.

Ooooh one of my concernsI just remembered: Drivers and passengers under 18. We need to check IDs and get parental forms done.

Question - if a parent is inaccessible would you think it is ok to read the waiver to them on the phone and agree to all the stipulations? I did it...

2nd question - Chris, was your brother friends with the kid in the white M3 or the red civic? i thought i saw him talking to them... if so, how old was the chick in the red shirt? Tongue

Yeah guys, wicked autocross. Smile

Even with the rain during the third group, we had a blast! This was my fourth autocross, and I feel like I'm really learning a lot.

Things went really smoothly until a certain someone, who we all know, and who will remain nameless... decided that he was better than everyone and didn't have to tell anyone that he was taking a break from one of his runs... thereby holding up the entire event. But I digress...
