CRX = $58/month, its got full coverage + a $10k performance parts coverage.
FZR = $17/month, its got full coverage, and maxed out on everything
CB750 = $7/month with just liability.

I actually charted all my rates over the last 5 years... it's really quite amazing. As soon as I get my renewal this month I'll post it up for everything.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

If the car is stolen he gets $10k for the car, plus whatever the insurance company thinks its worth - seems like a good deal to me.

are you sure he doesn't prove he had the parts in the first place?

I cant speak for Kaan, but it shouldnt matter. You say you want to insure it for $10k, the insurance company says "ok, its x per month".

I think you have to show receipts of any aftermarket stuff though, even if you have it insured for a certain amount. If you have receipts you're in good shape.

that's what i've heard (take ht stories for what they're worth) as well. i'm pretty certain kaan couldn't come up with 10k (or 500) in aftermarket parts on that pile.

I had a few thousand $$ in extra parts covered on my ITR - never sent pictures or receipts. You want to cover additional risk on your vehicle, you pay for it. Simple.

Nope. I filled out a supplemental coverage form, and it was added to my policy.

Maybe it's different for each company. A buddy of mine was getting ready to put the finishing touches on his R34 Skyline for SEMA when he parked it outside of his friend's house. An oak tree fell on it and sliced it in two. He had that policy and insurance covered everything he could provide a receipt for.

i had mine through USAA and they do require receipts. when my car was stolen they said that they would cover any parts that were on the car with valid reciepts and sometimes required pictures. they told me when i filed the claim that they would refuse to refund any additional parts without proper receipts/pictures.
thankfully i had the receipts, but it didn't matter since the car was found.

thats exactly what progressive will do. the only stipulation is that you must have it insured as a full coverage car.
if someone steals the car, i get $10k... trust me, as of late, i've been hoping someone would.

Were you paying extra for coverage on the aftermarket parts? If not then having receipts makes a lot of sense. If you just want to pay per month for additional coverage, its a simple matter of assessing risk and charging additional rates for the insurance company.

I pay the premium for $10k extra coverage, even if i have ZERO extra parts on it. stop living in your little world for a minute, snap out of it, and understand that it doesnt matter what is on the car, i'm bascially insuring it for a price. thats it. you feel you need to bash me, my car, my motorcycle, and my project... you need to call your girl and ask for your balls back... because you are going to need them to even attempt to talk shit with me.
