exactly. while it is easy to make good power with those motors, the install isn't as easy and parts are not as abundant.

A good point. Thats the other reason I want to do it Big Grin not as common. Lol a not as common swap in the most common car out there. My logic even baffles me sometimes.

Yeah I wouldn't use an amateur racing series as a metric of whether or not to use an engine. Most people in HC do zero testing and zero data collection so I wouldn't think too much of their opinions. In pro racing in the US there were very few H22's racing, probably as a result of the rules set. To my recollection there was only 2 series that allowed swapped Hondas (World Challenge and USTCC) and in WC I think the rules were written to only allow engines that came in the Civic in at least one of the other markets (so that meant B16 only).

In Japan there probably weren't many H22's racing because I think most of the series go by displacement limits and for the touring car classes the displacement limit tends to be 2.0L.

So yeah maybe the H22 would be a good option. If you're not trying to get crazy with power it will propel a Civic quite well on the street, track, or strip. With the weight distribution you could always move the seat back and get a steering wheel extender to help with that. Oh, and put the battery in the back.

I disagree. An NSX can be had for 20-25k. many hatchcraps have much more money in them than that, make less power, and are less reliable.
You could leave an NSX very close to stock and still win races in HC.

Maybe you forgot about Corey's H1 prelude? 235 whp.... yeah, that'll roll.

H22 into an accord coupe - that would be some shit... if you can get the weight down, it would be pretty damn competitive I think.

All this talk of engine swaps. You all need B00st!!!1!1

People who do engine swaps with the WRX are freakin insane. Most of them put custom built Crawford or Magnus 2.5L and I think 3.0L motors into them and put down crazy amounts of boosted all wheel horsepower. Along with that surely comes complete drivetrain and brake swaps as well, which is part of the reason why I say they're insane.

If you've ever seen videos of such cars doing AWD launches though, it truly is an amazing sight.

huh? what numbers? you have no numbers. where are the 25k+ h1 cars? it is conjecture to say a stockish nsx will destroy an swapped civic, we haven't seen it happen.
my numbers? there are no h22 powered civics racing in honda challenge.

Nearly every car on the H1 grid, dumbass.

Quote:it is conjecture to say a stockish nsx will destroy an swapped civic, we haven't seen it happen.

Look at the numbers (power, weight, tire size, etc) and make a logical conclusion. I dont need first hand evidence that getting punched in the dick would hurt - I can figure it out on my own.

Doesnt matter if its a civic or a odyssey, the minimum weight is by engine, not chassis for H1.
