I think that's the problem. I'm pretty sure all the MS products whore image quality when resixing.

It works well for images on their own but I find that it generally messes up the table width in forums (horizontal scroll on 1280x1024). I use 800 for forums to prevent it.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
When did they start building on the outside of the uphill esses?

Early last year, if I remember correctly.
They're "villas" and I think they're only $450k. I'm pretty sure that price includes the management company renting them out for you.

Well, while Ryan's team was all busy being slow, Bimmerworld brought a nuke to a gunfight in order to demonstrate a modern tortoise and hare story. Our very clean, well prepped (for sprint racing) e36M3 with built S54 showed up about 10 min into the 30 min qualifying session on Friday evening. James took it straight off the trailer, ran maybe 3 laps, hit someone and destroyed the front splitter. We had qualified 1st by almost a full second. Zip ties and duct tape got the bumper back together, sans splitter.
We were out front for a few hours until our shifter broke. Lost ~4 laps fixing that. While making up for lost time, some rough driving broke a radiator mount, damaged one of two oil coolers, oil getting into alternator, a big mess. Some zip ties and oil cooler bypass later, we were back out, maybe in 30 somethingth place out of 90+ cars. 1st wasn't an option anymore unless the top 2 crashed out, but we could realistically get back up to 3rd or 4th. Heck our fast lap was 4+ sec better than anyone else, and there was a lot of race to go. Somewhere around 8:15, things were looking pretty good. We were in 9th and climbing. Then the nuke went off in the right rear:
I don't really know what happened back there. But it spun the car, ended up partially off track, a few cars went by, then a Honda was out for a pass, I guess not paying attention, (the yellow had to be out, but who knows, it was dark as hell) and went straight into the back of us. :dunno:
Game over man!

I have to admit, I really don't like the placement there - one of the great things about VIR is the amount of runoff. Not that I ever had a problem in the esses, but for those that do are going to have a very very nasty wreck into that armco...

There were some initial concerns that the armco was wayyyy too close but once you're used to it, it's not that bad. FWIW, I've never seen anyone go off there. I've see a lot more cars swallowed by T3 and Hogpen. That said, it looks like there are tire marks leading right to that wall.

I've gotten loose at the top of the esses and pretty twitchy in the hump in the middle ess - but no offs there. However, have seen some higher hp cars (especially in GAC races) decorate the field out there...

I think at least one Ferrari Challenge car hit the wall over there this year. I don't like the position of those condos either. I certainly wouldn't want to be in those condos if anything really fast like a Daytona Prototype or something is running full course...

That's actually Greg Shaffer who spoke at our meeting last year. They finished 5th of 76 overall, which is pretty f'ing good. The best part is the car had no mechanical failures other than a loose sway bar... yeah Mercedes!!

For the first time in 4 or 5 enduros we did not have to change the transmission halfway through the race - Pablo lost 5th gear with about 3 hours to go, at least it did not get worse than that. At the nelson ledges 24 hr we had the trans changed in 45 minutes - including getting the car through tech inspection.
