I finally got my house - which is only like 10 mins from SP. Having never actually been to a track for any event..is there anything worth seeing if I stopped by? I *think* i'll be in town that weekend.

Not to mention the TrackDaze group brings out some pretty high roller cars. Awesome to hear some of the high dollar Porsches scream by and it looks like at Shenandoah you can stand pretty close to about any part of the track.

I'll be in Harrisonburg on Thursday and making my way down to SP on Friday at some point... perhaps even Saturday morning, I'll let you guys know closer to when time comes. At least we don't have to worry about not getting spots. Theres not a whole lot of cars signed up.

If it has the orange Snell sticker and is M2000 or M2005, you're good to go.

Edit: M rated helmets may have a brown sticker, SA helmets are the ones with orange stickers

hrmm..i have no idea what those numbers mean..but it doesnt have an orange snell sticker. it has a sticker that's like some kind of rectangular shape with "DOT" in it, and "Snell" written across the top of the sticker

DOT approval basically just means it's legal to use on public roads. Pretty much all helmets have this approval, even those tiny plastic brain buckets the Harley guys like so much (which provide next to zero actual protection in an accident.) Snell approval means it's built to a common safety standard, has been tested, and may offer some measure of actual protection.

Look inside the helmet, probably buried under the liner, for a metallic orange or brown Snell Foundation sticker. It's rectangular, maybe 1.5" long. Set into it in white letters will be "M2000" or "M2005" ... if it doesn't have either of these, or has a sticker that says "M95" or "M90"... then unfortunately it's not legal for TrackDaze.
