Help me choose some tires
#21
By the way, big ups to the new Falken Ziex 512s I wrapped those wheels with. Very quiet as far as road noise goes (compared to the garbage Ecstas I had on there), stiff sidewall and good grip during aggressive cornering. I got to test out their rain grip last night on the interstates in MD. They weren't AS good as everyone was hyping them up to be, but I was travelling about 75mph in a moderately heavy rainstorm and hydroplaning very minimally. They would catch grip shortly after I hit puddles, but I would say that they are only confidence inspiring in the rain at speeds below 65mph. Which is probably true for most tires hah...

Actually, my Falken FK451s weren't so great. They were cheap, but having to replace them yearly gets kinda expensive. I do like the UFO noise when I slow down though, they are sticky, and the tread pattern is pretty. However, I wouldn't recommend them.

I thought the FK451s were discontinued?

I had a set of Ziex 512s on my 92 Si hatch, have them on my 99 Si now, and the 240sx. I say that for the money, it's hard to find a better all season tire. Definitely grippier than the OEM Michelins that came on 99 Si's/integras and also a lot quieter and more comfortable than Azenis.

I highly recommend them.
