How do you guys get over being sick?

nope, i was 100% better from there on out. this was sick as in... i had been in bed for a few days with no noticeable changes until after i got drunk. usually i don't just get better over night from something like that.

Isn't that the damned point of the metric system? I just thought it was amusing that you were essentially saying "I take 3000 thousandths of a gram". It was amusing, probably only to me. Pay it no mind.

Besides, if you really went to an Apothecary (and not a Pharmacist) you would probably see your pills in 5, 10, and 20 grain tablets, and I would be making a joke about taking a drachm of Vitamin C.

Ive taken 2 Airbornes and plenty of Advilz. I don't see me beating this by tomorrow tho =/

Wow, well I feel exponentially better today!! The suggestion for the Airborne was huge; that combined with the zinc lozenges no doubt sped up my recovery. I took about 3 Airbornes yesterday at 3 hour intervals and several lozenges.

That is 5010% of my daily value of Vitamin C! :lol:

My throat is still a little sore and my lymph nodes are still noticeably a little swollen, but my fever has basically broken and I have a lot more energy than I did yesterday. Thanks for the suggestions guys!!

That sucks Scott!! I highly recommend you ask your wifey to pick you up some of that Airborne. You'd literally have to drink like 10 or 12 glasses of OJ to get the same amt of Vitamin C that's in one of the tablets.

Late to the party, since it appears you're feeling better...
I had to laugh when I saw this... I can't tell you how many times I've heard the chicken soup thing. I just smile and nod... so my thoughts on the matter:

My understanding is that the biggest thing about that "remedy" is the fact that the liquid is hot, and has a little bit of saltiness. So, really any thin veggie broth, a few noodles... seems to make me feel better than chicken noodle ever did. Of course there are always the mock "chicken" noodle soups too.

i'm finally getting over the cold i've had since around tuesday last week. my nose has been running so bad that on friday i used up all the tissues in the tissue box in my office, and the emergency box in my truck -- not good, i was seriously at the point where snot is about to run out of my face....so i went to the little kitchen in the conference room, nabbed two plastic forks and broke some of their tines off.

then like a total bum i went into the bathroom and jimmied the monster economy sized TP dispenser open with the forks and stole a roll out and sneaked it back to my office. i hope nobody saw me trying to get back to my office with a huge roll of TP!


also, cold-eeze are pretty good at helping you get better but they leave the worst metallic aftertaste ever! i brushed my teeth like 3 times every night trying to get rid of it.
