Im pretty sure if you hit triple digits in virginia, they can take you to jail for attempted involuntary manslaughter, right?

Oh man, I bet that was worth it though. You catch any air over the bridge? I would love to get some serious speed on that thing...

The Frankland is pretty level, straight and about 7 miles long. The land speed record from the stupid days was I 75 Northbound on the way back from Sanibel. Lets just say I ran out of revs in the E30 iS in 5th gear.

Oh.
I, of course, thought you meant the Skyway:
I doubt you could really catch air on it, but when you're driving it feels really weird. And I bet it'd be fun as hell to speed on.

I used to commute over the skyway every day when I worked in Bradenton....one of the nicest commutes evAr! It really is a wonderful view and a nicely designed bridge. The wind was an issue up there sometimes and it was closed occasionally for fog as well.

pansy ass
bridges are awesome and inspiring - i love them. i remember being on the cheasapeake bay bridge in the south and seeing nothing but bridge and water - kinda weird, but awesome.
Ironically enough my land speed record was in my E36 M3 on the Wright Memorial Bridge when coming back from VIR one year. It was like 10:30 on a Sunday night and figured cops couldn't be hiding behind a tree waiting for me. In hindsight, it was pretty dumb.
It's fairly amusing the Ryan is afriad of bridges.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Fucking shit, thats like 300 feet off the ground.
