He also had cams, 1g head/intake manifold and a bunch of other crap... and alot of miles on the bottom end.
I wasnt the least bit suprised when it let go. I hope he gets it back running again though

what can stock eclipse driveshafts handle? i imagine they're pretty beefy. when i saw the list of mods the first thing that popped into my head was driveshafts screaming in agony :o
very nice list of mods by the way. i also like how you kept the side-mount...stealth rules. another question, how is the sidemount in terms of airflow and pressure drop? my father has an audi A4 1.8T, and popular mod for that car is to use the S4's vented wheel well liner (stock liner is solid) behind the side mount so air can pass over it easier. the 1.8T's sidemount also causes a great deal of pressure drop over about 1 bar psi. sorry for all the questions, can't wait to see this beast in person!

Oh, you said on 93 octane? What do you run it on now?
650 cc injectors, and a 255 lph fuel pump are going to be more than enough for what this turbo will put down. I hit 25 psi several times on accident when I first took it out and logged no significent detonation...but I was only there for a second or so.
If you are reffering to the guy who literally melted his engine in a race against an M3, I believe, that was spread all over the internet...he was running a larger turbo and sadly to say something catostrophic or dumb had to have happened because that engine was in complete shambles. His car was extremely nice before that happened and I'm sure he is making it even nicer now.
I run 93 octane all the time, I was just clarifying as opposed to saying pump gas which could be 91-94. I do not think 20 on pump gas is too ambitious, but we will see. I am hoping to get around 25 on c16.

I don't know about what the limit on a stock driveshaft is. By definition I have two...but they arn't really called that in a FWD. People with AWD DSMs have run well over 400 whp without needing to get a stronger one, other things will break before it.
The dejontool.com supersidemount is pretty massive. They rate the core for 450 horsepower. I completely removed the plastic splashguard, nothing flows better than having nothing back there.
Pressure drop was not noticable but there had to have been some.
Truly, it will be out and about all the time. It is a daily driver and whenever the next event is we'll roll.
I'll also have it at the show, for sure. Some of my team will probably roll with, because we're cool like that.

20psi + cams/frontmount/etc + stock 90,000 mile block... lots of hard miles.
I saw it coming. He was pushing what, 400+ HP at that point?

Who knows what Hawley is doing at this point, he was even at one of the autox's in Staunton. His car broke and he disappeared.

1. I do, I worked with him this summer and winter.
2. He doesn't go to JMU anymore, he's working full-time in NoVA.
3. He was never big in to the club.

Well one final update on my vehicle, unless for some reason more are required.
I drove it to FFx Thurs evening and the car peformed well. I had brought extra coolant and oil just in case. My lower radiator hose has been leaking some water out on occasion, which is why I have a new one sitting in the trunk and someday it will be warm enough to flush the antifreeze out and install it. -Love those interchangable words that mean completely different things- The gasket on the oil return line from the turbo had also been leaking since I first started it up, and so I cut myself a new one and used some silicone gasket material as well while I was in FFx and put a stop to that. I also had forgot to put the crush washers in on the feed line but I'll take care of that tomorrow and so the few drops that have leaked out there will not be repeated.
I drove from FFx to UVA to JMU on Saturdy and then from JMU to UVA and back on Sunday (today).
My girl has a laptop (I don't) so we were able to do a little tuning from UVA to JMU and then from JMU to UVA.
Car was running alright, A little rich - air/fuel was 10:1. We encountered no significant detonation so I plan on turning the boost up to 20 lbs tomorrow and seeing how it rolls. Hopefully I won't have to sacrifice too much timing but I'll see.
I wish I could be rolling to VIR next weekend, but my boy's birthday is going on back in FFx, and I'll also be doing the clutch/flywheel install as well.

wouldnt want to blow out the welds on the intake
definately not.

I'll be very careful. I have my "Warning Danger Danger" message ready to warn me at slightest hint of ... danger?
Seriously, I have seen pictures of a Venom intake manifold that was blown apart at the welds, and that was kind of funny. And I'm more worried about detonation, which is why I have the CEL set to flash if timing gets pulled more than 4 degrees becuse of it.

wow, sounds excellent. When you going to start takin MMers out on rides... ?
Yeah, I heard the passenger's floor falls through the car if you run too much boost. You don't want to be fred flinstone do you?
When is our next meeting? And:
I actually need someone to roll with me and use the laptop when I go out tuning. If you are capable of using a laptop and will promise not to change anything unless I'm asking you to, I'd like to go out tomorrow (Tues).

edit, you also have to have some faith...sometimes I think a 4th gear pull is needed and that is 130+ territory.

Someone in NoVa has got to have a mustang dyno

I will be getting the car dynoed sometime within the next month or so just so I know for sure how much power it is making.
Edit* Been looking over the logs again and doing more calculating and I'm probably making only 250 at the wheels right now at about 17psi. I have a long ways to go...need more boost and less intake restrictions.

Ah, but use it to tune, not just to see what you're putting down
You've got the DSM Link! (nice piece of hardware, i think).
