ah, this thread is awesome.
However, I believe there is actually alread an official MM toolbox. Mikey had a little old yellow one, that he passed on to me when he had too many tools. I obviously outgrew it pretty quickly (stupid projects = big budget for tools) and have since passed it along to Thayer.
I think the rule goes that if you acquire this toolbox, you are doomed to buy a lot of shit and tools for your car within the next year :-D. Beware!

Speaking of, I need to buy one soon... All my tools are cramped into a little portable toolbox and I know I lost a whole lot of them Sad

How much did that setup cost you if you dont mind me asking, and is it ball bearing?

Doubt I'd need the middle section though

That is not ball bearing, however I will be getting a 5 drawer ball bearing center next summer. It works fine without the bearings and at half the price. All that, with some sneaky use of multiple discounts by me, $400. They left the "free center section" sign out after posting the sale price. Smile I have a Crafteman 3-dr toolbox for sale if anyone needs it.

omg you're right! i almost forgot about that one! i can't even fathom how small it is because the one that i replaced it with (was 3x bigger i think) is already small in my eyes and rarely sees use.

If you have a car that only has metric fastners then dont bother with any of the sears kits except this one:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00933941000&subcat=Mechanics+Tool+Sets">http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product. ... +Tool+Sets</a><!-- m -->

Its a bit more expensive, but has much more useful tools in it, and it doesnt have a crapload of SAE sockets and wrenches that you'll put in a pile and never use.

Hopefully 'santa' will bring me a nice big toolbox that I can park in the garage for christmas Smile By then I'll have a work bench and better lighting.... all I'll need is air tools then Project OddJobÔäó can begin

I should probably consult you before any automotive purchases :lol:

I asked them about metric only sets, but of course I was at the "H-Burg Sears" which has about 3 wrenches and 2 vacuums... ah well it fit my price for now.

Will non-ball bearing drawers "go bad"?

I have some POS old Craftsmang tool box I got from a friend and the drawers are shot to hell, not smooth at all...

ps. anyone seen the boxes at Costco/Sam's? Those are some bling ass boxes!
