I'm driving as well. Guess I should find a place to stay. Any floor space left Chad?
Also, you got me scared with the title of this thread. It is the 29-31, correct?

On the flip side, I need a place to crash that night... if anybody has floor space, let me know...

My apartment is only like an hour away maybe? So I'll be there all the days minus Sunday, of course. I will have a couch and futon if anyone wants to spend the night. Oh...and I'd like to do grid again if possible!

time for a little bump,
Is there anyone else coming that's NOT on the list? Is there anyone else towing that I don't have listed? Good to know so we know how much paddock space to grab. First on there get enough for everyone. Also, RJ are you bringing your tent? For 6 people mine is probable overkill, I have it fixed now if we need it but yours will probably be big enough for 6 people. Who's ready? All I have left to do is put the front splitter on, car and expedition are ready to go. Those staying w/ me. I plan to get there Friday night and tech then so you can meet me at the track or call the cell at 301-512-9224. --chad

I will be bringing my canopy..... I think I am going to go down thursday night and do the L3 instructwhore clinic friday but I'll have to see what work is like and make that decision last minute.
I plan on sleeping on your floor, air mattress and beers in hand.

If you can grab enough paddock space for everyone. It looks like 7 drivers, 3 with trailers. I'll meet you at the track Friday night, if I'm not there by 8 call the cell. --chad

doesn't seem like it has much to do with instructing. i certainly know how to watch my mirrors, i can drive fairly well, i know the tracks i visit, i know fundamentals.

Well, I would say you don't have enough seat time to be an effective instructor. Heck, I wouldn't even _think_ about trying to be an instructor right now. Everytime I go out there is something new I find out I was doing wrong. No way I'd want to pass my bad habbits onto new students just for some free track time. --chad

it's not for the free track time, i have plenty of that. i wouldn't instruct anyway as i agree with you that i'm still learning, but i'd like to take the class to see what i'm in for and be prepared for when i do hop in a car with a student for the first time.

Mike Wrote:doesn't seem like it has much to do with instructing. It does, to some extent. If you cant handle (not just "survive") running hard in group 3, then chances are you cant handle dealing with a student. Group 3/4 is a different animal than running in group 2 - lots of off-line and mid-corner passing going on and lots of HP. |
