i think it is only an extra 40ish pound from a b-series motor. not exactly a vehicle dynamic ruining number.

Speaking of hp / torque, I can't wait for my Stage 4 setup to be complete =p Should be happening within the next 2-3 months
My only big decision is which turbo to go with. Either way, it should put me around 300 awhp. I'm hitting up an awd dyno in two weekends, so I'll be able to post comparisons to my current setup eventually.

humm i dont know much about honda but id say kieth with any honda with a swap youll be more than happy.. just get that done first..

Go on honda-tech and read the thread where somebody actually weighed the difference between a b-series and an h-series. The difference is only something like 30 pounds....yet everybody always blows it out of proportion.
In regards to boost, I dont want to boost my car. I know myself. I know that I would blow the fuck out of the engine with boost, just like I know I wouldnt last the ride home from the dealership if I bought a bike. Hence the reason I want the H22a. 190 stock hp, decent torque, less money, not nearly as much needed done to it to hit 200 whp as with a B18c (sorry mike).

cool deal.. sounds like a good plan..wasnt at all trying to make you look stupid or prove something cause i truely dont know.. just seems that an h22 would be more common of a swap if it were that easy to make the good power. but more power to you.. jump on it man
sounds like youve done you research ... good deal

you best look into some strengthened gear sets son 8) standard WRX's like to eat their trannies at about that level of power. maybe you are aware....i just don't want to see you on the side of the road with WRX guts trailing your car!

so, we've learned:
Keith wants an H22, no matter what and appears to have done the research to make himself a success.
Mkey is afriaid of teh b00st.
RJ is a ricer and can blabber endless Honda parts while still sounding intelligent..
Blair still doesn't know his Hondas.
Every Honda part is interchangeable between every engine, making for infinite variables in engine building.
Wheeeeeeeeeeee, just another MM thread
Actually, if I were going to run a car regularly on track, I would build it to be the most powerful with the least amount of stress endured, while keeping it so that parts are easy to acquire (goodbye JDM swaps) and still being reliable. Best that I can tell, Mike is doing a good job of fitting this bill.

Yah, USDM STI gearset, STI Type RA, or a custom built gearset after the stock one breaks 8) New clutch probably before then.

btw mike... if you were to boost lightly... you'd be fine... and you are right about the LSvtec combo... this is why i strayed away from the CRvtec build.
like that guy on HT that has the b00sted R and is running hot... there is a reason... and the reason is he wont let go of power to keep it cool ;-)

LS1's are too expensive. I dont' need no steenking aluminum. I want a big fat lump of iron underneath the hood of my next car.
But we'll see.

don't forget about custom axles, no AC/PS. if you're cool with that and the inconvenience of a tight engine space to wrench the car. Go for it. I have a ass load of spare h22a stuff you can rumage through.

Yeah but there is problems with the shift linkage (cable) and the axles.... just not ideal, but would be fun.

As stated above, its harder to make it work. But I am determined 8)
I will probably take you up on that load of H22a stuff about 2-3 months from now
My original point was, even if I end up spending another 1.5-2k on the car, im still at the same point moneywise mike is, and I end up with the better motor 8) . AC I dont mind losing, and I doubt the eg I buy will even have PS. Tight work space? pshhh...got mmer's here to help out w/that
