What was that screw looking thing in your pan?
No lift - jackstands all the way baby. The screw looking thing was shaved metal that curled up somewhere inside my engine and fell into my oil pan.

The ones I pulled had 133k on them (at least I assume they were never replaced before) - I was surprised how little copper was showing on them. Some can be really bad - the picture below speaks for itself.
