I'm STRONGLY considering flying out to PA to buy that Ralliart this weekend.

I believe the Volvo XC70 checks all of your boxes quite well. Midsize, AWD, turbo, I *think* it's in the price range, safe vehicle (for the young one). Depending on which engine they're generally rock solid, however you will probably have to service the haldex AWD system. Worth it for the car if you ask me.

DO IT. Looked like it had the Fosgate sound system which actually wasn't that bad either.

Ken Wrote:GT is not the way to go, look for a Ralliart. It had the twin clutch from the Evo MR and engine, just a smaller single scroll turbo and obviously different tuning. I had one and it was arguably my favorite car i've owned. You won't see 30MPG but it'll definitely be an improvement from 10MPG. I think i averaged around 20 overall and saw as high as 28ish on the highway. Only 2009+ for the good Ralliar though.

I didn't even know this was a thing. That's pretty cool.

I also loved driving and riding in Ken's Ralliart. Looking back it was a damn fun car to drive and looked pretty sharp, too.

Only downside is there seems to be like 5 within 500 miles and only 2 of those with less miles than the Jeep we're replacing, fak.

Did I mention I REALLY hate dealing with used car salesmen?

ME: Hey I really like your 2010 Ralliart but this one has has hit a deer and has 20k more miles than an exact match one state over. It's a lot closer and would save me 10 hours of driving so let's make a deal...

Salesman of the fucking year: I assure you this car is worth $13000.

Yeah buddy I'm going to totally disregard the other car now that I have your assurance.

is that their internet sales guy or just a guy at a desk? might be worth trying to contact someone else at the same dealership.

see if you can find out how long its been on the lot, and if its been a while, assure him you'll make him look like a hero with a quick sale if he pulls his head out of his ass

Infinity G37x checks a lot of your boxes as well. You can find examples in the meat of your price range pretty easily.

Those are nice cars. A G37 coupe was on the long list before I bought the 135i.

I don't care how much of an old person car this might be; I like the look in Pearl White or Black, and the depreciation is killer. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... share_text

You did good with the g37x recommendation. My uncle has one in white and I love it. But that heinous Lincoln? Man that's bad.

Sadly, and it does pain me to say it, a GTI also makes a good candidate, if you feel like rolling the VW reliability dice.

If he's seriously considering a Mitsubishi, a VW shouldn't scare him.

The car is for the GF, get her the nicest Accord you can find. Safe, reliable, gets the MPG you want.

I didn't have a single issue out of my modded Evo IX in the two years I daily drove it. Unless you want to count the clutch, but that's a wear item. I'm far more scared of VW than I would be of Mitsubishi.

I've owned two mitsubishi', and as anyone here can confirm (and video), i was far from being easy on either of them; for a total of 6 years. I owned a VW for less than one. Guess which one actually had issues that required servicing? Hint: it's German.

Yeah that was definitely the car I was considering before the idea of at WRX/Lancer GT popped in my head.

I'll be driving it whenever she's not and likely every other weekend. Something like that is definitely the smart option but I really need something that's going to kill the temptation of taking the Demon everywhere.
