maybe your sending unit went out? Does it "feel" cold, or is it just reading cold?

the gauge does fluctuate, so i don't think the sending unit went out. the heat doesn't get too hot so i'm thinking the entire engine just isn't running very hot.

You can fix it pretty quickly. The hardest part is bleeding out the air in the coolant. It might be a good idea to fix it so the car won't enrichen the mixture to compensate for what it thinks is colder air. Also, if it's cold next weekend, driving down without heat is going to suck balls.

that happened to my integra a few years back. its pretty easy to replace assumign you have a couple of swivel sockets and extensions. my car would never quite reach its regular operating temp and it would get really cold when i started moving. i replaced the t-stat and it worked normally after that

honda makes it easy to bleed the system  and yes its probably a Tstat.

i know you have a B motor and all... but i think its 2 10mm bolts and that hose...
********** make sure you get a new gasket if yours uses one... i'm sure it does... and make sure you line up the little notch in the gasket with the notch on the Tstat.

Get the heavy duty version. Those things are way too cheap and important to skimp on.
Kaan-B/D series are easy to bleed. Bleeding an H-Series was harder and took longer than any other car I've every had.

feck! car is at curry's for alignment and tire mounting... guy calls and says my rear trailing arm bushings are shot... 1 is broken, the other cracked. i odn't know shit about bushings, but i'm guessing i shouldn't track it like that?
don't think i have time to get new bushings, tear trailing arms off, get new ones pressed in, reassemble... shit, i don't think i can even pull the s2k out of the garage yet....
i might be staying home this weekend

looks like a guy on rr-ax can get me the bushings today and has a tool that doesn't even require taking off the trailing arm to put the new bushing in (just unbolt and replace). BLING! picking up tomorrow in annapolis

the integra had cracked trailing arm bushings. that happens to all hondas i believe. i say go out on track. its not like the control arm is gonna snap in half. there's still rubber in there. do it when you get home from the track
