you're not the only one. i found that when i had my radar detector (cheap Whistler from Best Buy) it made me aware of several officers in NC near the outer banks and a few across Indiana and Ohio, but not all of them. It gave me a false sense of security and i didn't look out for the cops anymore. It also went off for several other things such as moving doors and false radar sensors that were located in highway signs. I'm sure it would've paid off to spend $300-$400 on a radar dectector, but i never was willing to pay that much.

I just find it important to pay attention and drive slower now . I don't really speed that much and by September i'll have all my tickets cleared from my record and hopefully reduced insurance.
