I don't trust anything that claims it will never become obsolete, especially if it's electronic. I'd rather a company admit that there's no such thing and offer to upgrade it when they can.
I'm also not really sure I trust the claims about the magnesium case because the V1 has one as well. I mean, the evidence is the evidence but it doesn't appear to be solely due to the magnesium case.
There are areas (laser and area covered) that the V1 is better than the other two high end models. IMO, you're putting too much emphasis on stealth and not enough on actually saving your ass. I'm not here to convince you to buy the V1 over any other 'cause I don't work for them. My point is there's a lot of misinformation and false claims out there on the subject and you need to read as much as possible.
The bottom line... and the answer to your question... is I believe anyone who does any decent amount of highway time in the Commonwealth should own a high end model.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
