Dell Laptop Battery Recalls

I will say good things about the high end Dell Precision laptops. We took them into military field exercises full of dirt and crap being tossed around and they held up great (at least in the short term)
However Dell's standard line in my experience have been flaming piles of shit.
And dont get me started on Sony...

so wahts wrong with sony laptops? i like how small the vaio line is and i might need to get a laptop sometime in the next 6 months if i start grad school.

all of this discussion reminds me of a tradeshow i went to two years ago that sells police equipment of all types. one guy had this durable shell for laptops and other sensitive electronics equipment. he kept pitching about how durable it is to moisture and shock and stuff and demonstrated the product by dropping his laptop on the floor. when he picked it up, the screen was all jacked up and busted. it was hilarious
