If this is how you do it, then you are correct. HE had asked me how to do it since he knew he would be late because they had broke a halfshaft and I told him (after asking JJ) he would be allowed to race and he should get up there asap....next time I will know better

In a case like that we'll occasionally let them join the field in their grid spot after the 3 minute call, or let them join at the back of the pack. Special circumstances arise and if we're made aware of it beforehand we do our best to accomodate. Most other participants understand these things and don't gripe when they see a competitor join the field after the 3 minute call. If the guy just got up there late for no other reason then just being late I have no sympathy for him and he starts from the pits.
