If you want it bad enough you will make it happen. If not and you are happy where you are, thats fine too, just dont blame your situation or pretend its out of your control.

i gaurantee you that you wont find a house in cville with a garage for rent for under $1k a month. at that point, i'm going to buy instead of rent.
