I'm hoping its gonna get a lot better in the next couple of years now that costs are being cut and 'hypothetically' it should make it a more attractive option to manufacturers who would like to race their production cars on the world stage and don't make anything suitable for Le Mans.
Mexico is:
1) Close
2) Cheap (in the scheme of international travel)--hell, you could drive down...
3) No passport required
4) Warm and sunny in the winter (time of WRC event)
5) Rally spectating is quite an adventure...
Correct on all counts. Same with the Baja 1000, except that I'd like to compete in the 1000 one day.
