Saturn Sky Redline
#23
I think people are forgetting here that the Sky weighs 2933 lbs (Solstice is 2860). It's pretty porky to me for the size and equipment levels, especially if you notice the MX-5 weighs in at 2500 lbs. Add that turbo engine, beefed-up suspension, bigger brakes, etc of the Redline... and you get an even heavier car. The 5.5 0-60 claim seems reasonable though. Unfortunately, it's only 5-speed (both models), which will limit it's acceleration times a bit when compared to a properly tuned six speed. I've gotten a chance to see and sit in a Solstice and a Sky, and immediately I noticed the seat cushion is equivalent to that of a bean bag...waaay too soft for me, and probably for many other people, yet nobody seems to mention that in the magazines. Anyone seen the trunk on one of these also? It's damn small, much smaller than that of the new MX-5. Clutch seems short and tight, steering wheel diameter is ideal, visibility seems manageable, and the shifter has a nice, short through, although the movement seems as if the shifter is moving through a sea of rubber padding. Lastly, one man mentioned how his LS2 equipped Solstice got 11 mpg! The cars sounds pretty pissed though, I'll post some vids on this soon.

On a side note...I got 29.8 mpg with the Crossfire on the highway on a roadtrip!!! Ha, and Chrysler claims 25 mpg on the highway with my car. Thank-you cruise control at 72 mph! Of course some short bursts of acceleration was included as well for kicks
