ooh! Time to derail! :o
That picture brings up something I was thinking the other day when I saw someone's sig that said something like "fuck yo couch nukka" or the like. I wondered, who decided that nukka or nucca or whatever is an ok substitue for nigger or I guess more appropriatly nigga (as it is said in context)? Is someone who is going to be offended by one of those somehow more ok with nukka? It's pretty clear what the intent is, a racial slur on black people. Sure, it was said by a black guy, in a comedic setting, but either you're going to "get it" and find it funny, or you're not and will be calling your congressman.
It just seems TO ME, that you might as well either choose to use the phrase with 'nigga' if you're either in the company of people who you know, OR choose to just avoid the phrase in a public setting (or like, on your resume). I guess I understand that some people have chosen the former and just can't type 'nigga' because of some filter on a forum. But then that's why the picture version of it seemed even more strange to me! Am I thinking rightly? Your thoughts?
