If it wasn't manufactured by Diamond Star Motors, then it isn't a DSM.
And since Diamond Star Motors became Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc, there ain't no more DSM.
Exactly, the only reason 2gs are in the "dsm" community is because we share the same power and drivetrain basically, and thats only with the turbo ones. 1g na are 4g63 without turbo, but 2g are totally different NA engines, 420A.
PS-im not exactly insecure, I just hate for my car to be hated on so much when people are not informed. If I was insecure I would have gone out and bought an s2000 or evo or wrx(I drove every one of them before buyting my gsx), but I didnt like them at all compared to my dsm (personal opinion). But I am fine with myself, I just try to up the image of the DSM as (mike) and others say, dsms are piles of shit, when they are far from it. Unfortunately, the DSM gets abused by 16 year olds who just buy the car and throw on a boost controller or new turbo and up the boost without doing it correctly and blow the engine. Then they blame it on crankwalk, or that the car has a weak engine or bs like that. Yet everybody loves the EVO, they are the same engines, hold the same horsepower, only difference is they have slightly better heads (even that is debatable). DSMs have their faults, but it typically is not what people say they are.
Comments like these, "please don't bother citing one example of one lasting longer than it should have; i've been around cars and dsms long enough to know better." are why there is so much ignorance in car communities. Apparently, he would know a lot more about DSMs than I would and of course, all the dsm community. But then I would like to know his definition of a Pile of Shit. Having the strongest 4-cylinder engine on the market apparently still classifies it as a POS, and of course dismiss the 15+ years of Mitsubishi involved in rallying with this engine alone had to have been stupid, cuz you know, they're POS. I would like to know where you got your high horse.
