"What's up with the 2G's" is that 2G's weren't manfactured by Diamond Star Motors. 1G's were.
If it wasn't manufactured by Diamond Star Motors, then it isn't a DSM.
And since Diamond Star Motors became Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc, there ain't no more DSM.
