First of all, I try to keep posts on subject so Jeff can revel in his Sebring glory lol.
Oh and panache? Why I get so aggravated is because I dont like a little neon engine being associated with a rally-destroying engine that is in my car. My car is technically not a dsm, but it is accepted the community that 1g/2g/and GALANT vr-4s are considered DSMs.
How would you appreciate your STI being bashed for lets say...the Forresters problems? They have no correlation, and many dsmers are annoyed at how people group all mitsubishis into DSMs and then say DSM this and DSM that. That is how aggravating it is. I hate people asking, what do you have, ...a gsx..., oh whats that? ,....an eclipse, oh and they kind of give this look of piece of shit. DSMs have no respect. AWD and turbo a DECADE before the wrxs came to america. Magazines RAVED reviews about DSMs, saying the cars were "bats outta hell" "rockets out of corners". They were flabbergasted and the incredible launch out of the hole with awd. The 1g was tested and they pointed out how it "wasnt the fastest sports car 1/4 mile" but it destroyed everything 0-30. BTW this comparison was put against corvettes, supras, rx7s, where the DSM should be comparisoned against integras for their price range.
Sorry, I get so frustrated when people call DSMs pieces of shit, when for its price range ROMPED on everything. Its even a better daily driver than an integra as the 2g dsm has all of its 214 lb/ft of torque at 2800 RPM and the AWD makes no problem of bad weather. I used to have a FWD car and I realized how annoying and how bad it was to step the gas and just spin.
*rant over*
