MSF Course '06

On a kind of a side note (sorry to hijack mike), I had originally thought that I would pick up an old bike soon after taking the MSF class. However, at this point in time im not sure how feasible that will be because of certain factors that I cant control. So, I guess my question is, would the things you learn as to riding a motorcycle from the MSF class stick with you for a while regardless of whether you start riding after the course? I have no riding experience, and at this point it looks like it may be a good year and a half or so until I can actually own a bike. Im going to still take the class just for the learning part (and probably go get my license afterwards), but this question has been lingering arround in my mind for a few weeks. Obviously if things work out this wont matter, but I would like to think its not pointless to take the class now (if i would just need to take it later as well).

I had 0 riding experience when i went to the MSF. I recommend not knowing anything so you don't create any bad habits. If you've riden a bicycle before you'll be fine. The lessons will have a delayed effect so you'll need to start off cautious if you wait a year, but getting on and practice and you'll be fine.
