You assumed incorrectly. Think of the clientele drawn to the STi... lots of power obcessed by teenage kids who plow it into a tree. Hell, the WRX was much more to insure than my 350Z at the standard rate... does make sense considering the 350Z has more power, costs more (my model being 8-10K over the WRX), and has two less doors.
