I love toyotas......I LOVE THEM. But 2 of my close friends have NA mr2s and i must say id go with the miata definitely, no questions asked. In every aspect of driving (acceleration, braking, handling) my POS 105 crank horses celica will put both mr2s to shame, but some old dude in a miata definitely smoked me hardcore one time. The 5s-fe(na mr2 engine) however will last around 300,000 miles and is completely bulletproof, also it's a HUGE pain in the ass to swap a 3sgte into a NA mr2, you are way better off turboing the 2.2L 16v in it as it is. It's almost the same choice as whether to turbo a ka24 or swapping in an sr20. You'd actually spend less turboing the stock engine to 7-9psi and itd hold that no problem and youd end up with more torque and about the same horses. Anyways, i'd still choose the miata, and im sure most of you would also after driving both hehe
