Weight, power, etc don't matter to me a ton. I figure either one can get turned into a competitive autox car if I so desire but that's what the WRX is for (if I ever learn to drive). In fact having a car that's more on the gutless side is fine with me.
I think the biggest PITA will be finding the "right" MR2. I am hoping some autocrosser sells their E-stock MR2 when the season is over so I can get a package deal with Konis and a 2nd set of wheels. If I can't find a good MR2 I will probably look at the Miata..
