a car is worth whatever someone will pay for it, if there is an enthusiast who wants that car enough to pay $10k for it, thats fantastic. This is the philosophy that the Barret Jackson auctions have been thriving off of for however many decades they have been around.
You are right Jeff, I dont have enough brand loyalty to pay more than the worth of the metal and parts. Personally I get my joy from automobiles from driving them, not owning or looking at them. They are a tool to me, "equipment" for the activity of driving/racing. Which is similar to the distinction why we are a motorsports club, not a car club. Motorsports is the activity, the car is the tool.
This is the same reason why I will never understand (and forever mock) stupid high hp street car dyno queens.
