FWD tow vehicle is a bad plan. I have seen many a esploded automagic transmission due to this. Just get a 2wd v8 pickup to make towin fun and easy. Thats gonna be ur cheapest way to go. An old late 80s early 90s F-150, 1500 Chevy, or a 1500 Ram would work great. 250 is always nice but stay away from older ford powerstrokes, 5-speed or auto. In those years the older turbo diesel trucks from Chevy and Dodge had automatic transmission problems, but the 5-speeds were strong. All that said a simple 1500...maybe with towing group from the factory is all that is needed.
