Should have gotten the licensee plate of the truck and gone to the city for reimbursement...

true. thing was, i had to get behind the truck (which i hate to do) because i needed to get 3 lanes over to my exit, pronto. and honestly, i was so startled my only thought was to get as far away from the truck as possible.

So if you were coming up on your exit, why were you in the far left lane?

i was in the far left because:

(A) GA highways are set up so that the right lanes will often simply become exit ramps. you can literally be driving along and the next thing you know you're leaving the highway

(B) i was going through center city so people were flooding onto the highway from the on ramps. i wanted to be away from that.

© as i came closer to my exit i was going to attempt to get ahead of the truck, then get over. thats when i got boxed in from a different car that was also trying to get over, and i had to get behind the dump truck.

edit: and yes, we have a few left hand exits also, mostly for HOV
