TOPIC BACK FROM THE DEAD!
Just out of curiosity, did oil samples on my 318 and Jess' Accord. Both with Silkolene 5W-40. The 318 with probably two track events and 5600 miles, on it's first run of synth since the motor was broken in. The Accord with 13500 miles
hock:, with a filter change around 6k. First #'s are "clean" oil #'s I found elsewhere, 2nd is the 318, 3rd is the Accord
(Al)Aluminum 0 7 3
(Cr)Chromium 0 4 0 <---318 piston rings still breaking in a bit
(Fe)Iron 2 29 19 <---maybe more break in? Accord a little high too?
(Cu)Copper 0 9 3
(Pb)Lead 3 13 54 <---Accord # a little high, but regular gas also has high lead apparently
(Sn)Tin 0 3 3
(Mo)Molybdenum 1 6 5
(Ni)Nickel 0 0 0
(Mn)Manganese 0 1 0
(Si)Silver 0 9 15
(Ti)Titanium 0 0 0
(K)Potassium 0 1 0
(B)Boron 325 326 125 <---Additives
(Si)Silicon 2 9 15
(Na)Soduim 3 9 2
(Ca)Calcium 2724 2674 3117 <---Additives
(Mg)Magnesium 28 27 24 <---Additives
(P)Phosphorus 917 933 1082 <---Additives
(Zn)Zinc 1212 1002 1172 <---Additives
(Ba)Barium 0 1 0 <---Additives
Both samples also showed:
Fuel 0.5
Water 0.0
I don't know a freakin thing about oil analysis other than what I learned here:

They have some guys on their forum that know way too much as well, I'll see what they think of my #'s. Overall, I'm pretty happy, maybe I'll push the Accord to 15k. Looks like 5k is more than safe for mine. Oh, and the sample kit I used is from Fleetguard. Very basic analysis, but if anyone wants one, I can get 'em to you for like $15 at the most.
