hrm....first the abbreviated version. Ill go back and edit in more detail when I get time.
Ive always been into cars...never knew how to get into racing (or had the $$ anyway)
Senior year of college i saw the MM flyers, and went to the first meeting, went to a few other meetings and flagged at jefferson circuit for a weekend.
Graduated, bought a WRX, and immediately started AutoXing it w/ karen and the NASA program in her winter series. Got hooked on autoX and did one about every weekend.
That June I did my first track event at Summit (this was also Maeng's, and I think RJs first event) I was hooked again and started doing track weekends at every chance, sometimes 3 a month (to the detriment of my visa bill) with every club under the sun, like the alfa romeo club!
that was the beginning, and I think you guys pretty much know the rest...the more I tracked, the less I autoXed,
after doing about 15 weekends of HPDE I took the NASA instructor school and became an instructor....the same weekend I put my wrx into the wall at VIR.
That year was a slow year since I didnt have a car and was recovering from my severe credit card debt, but I managed to drive maeng's pile a couple times (and my wrinkled wrx for a weekend or 2 also) and flagged for CarGuys a lot.
then came the miata..... a couple years of instructing and whoring up the track with it, and now on to wheel to wheel racing!
