what kinda tires are you using? all the shit i saw was like 10/pair.
not too concerned about body legality. when i get there, i get there. it came with the viper and i had to pick up the s2k. getting a new body isn't a big deal.
Serpent is a brand that is sort of legendary....they've been making on-road nitro cars since the early days. super strong, super fast, and super $$$. they do 1/10 and 1/8 scale i think.
i've seen a 1/8 scale Serpent in action, with a .21 ported Novarossi engine and 2 speed automatic. its hard to describe seeing a car take off that fast, then kick into 2nd gear and accelerate just as hard towards 75 mph.
classing is done by scale size, and engine size usually, it depends on local rules.
as for tires....on some serious on-road cars they use foam tires, which are crazy grippy but wear so fast its not funny. rubber slicks are the usual fare.
and yeah, don't worry about body legality. no offense but just practicing, you'll tear it to peices just hitting curbs or your buddies. by the time you want to enter races you'll probably have a "competition" body to add to your "practice" one.
sounds like you're doing everything the right way....more than could be said for me when i started, haha. keep us up to date on it dude, and a video would be awweesome!
