Look no further than the Honda Fit. It was the number 1 selling car in Japan when it came out in 2000 (I think it held the title for awhile) and we'll finally be getting it sometime this year.
What makes the Fit cool is that its a pretty well equipped car for only about $10K. Its small but has a lot of usable interior, the rear seats even fold flat into the floor like the Odyssey. As an added bonus, the 200 hp and 220 hp K-series engines both fit in the 2250 lb (when fully equipped) Fit.
Here's the story: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=195188">http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=195188</a><!-- m -->
If you need a cheap car and you don't want an Accent or Scion...
