In my personal opinion, the Impreza chassis is much stiffer, more responsive, and has less bump steer and handling quirks than the EVO.

Sorry Evan. I'm going to have to side with everyone else. First off, I have a current TG episode where the EVO comes out on top. And like everyone agrees... myself included... they'd still pick the STi. If you get inside both of them, there is a serious difference in feel. Everything from when you close the door. The STi has a solid THUD and the evo has a metallic slam. The interior on the evo is cheap. The boost lag is painful.

The STi drives better, FEELS more well made. LOOKS more well made. Apparently is more reliable.

I've driven both thanks to Carmax. Brett drove the STi there as well. I'm sorry, but there's no way you can think that the STi feels more responsive. If by handling quirks you mean "not having consistent understeer," you're right... the evo doesn't have as much of that as the STi. The EVO.... sadly... feels more agile.
