A spinning engine creates a lot of friction and forces that can slow a car.
you suggested otherwise, so i suggested a simple exercise. then you threw in something unrelated with brakes and jackstands or something. explain.
I never said the engine doesnt have enough force to slow the car. My point is 1) Tires stop your car, so why does it matter? and 2) that one may bring up the point that using the engine could help reduce (or from what I get from what was posted earlier, increase) the amount of work the brakes have to do, and that really doesnt matter because the amount of kinetic energy the engine has is a fraction of a percent of what a fast moving car has.
