very true, and a data point Im not ignoring. Probably not a coincidence, which is why Im a bit confused. Everything Ive read and seen about the impreza suggests otherwise. Even the Grp N WRXes with no wing would pitch slightly up when jumping
SWRT said when they released the 04 spec car with that the vertical strakes smoothed the airflow coming off the wing creating less turbulence and less drag, although i suppose that could still provide a bit of downforce when sideways by catching and redirecting air straight over the wing
