Air from the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system routes air from the engine back into the intake. A catchcan catches the oil and is might helpful because oil in your intake is the devil, especially on a turbocharged vehicle where it can gunk up the intercooler. It'll also leave residue on the throttlebody and intake manifold.
