Yeah. They didn't offer a manual with the turbos. It's pretty popular to put an R154 (86-91 Supra Turbo) transmission into them, though. The transmission itself is an aisin-warner unit, and it's pretty beefy.
300 horsepower in this car is really not all that far away. The engine itself is really strong, and the Mitsubishi turbocharger ought to be easily upgraded. (Maybe you could put a DSM turbo on it? I don't know.)
But yeah, it's been a really good car.
